| Abstract: | Artificial intelligence (AI)-based chatbots like ChatGPT represent a promising technological advancement that has the potential to revolutionize the field of education. Therefore, it is imperative to continue exploring and developing such AI-based tools to improve the learning outcomes of students. This study conducted a bibliometric review of studies on AI chatbots in education via obtained data from online databases, such as Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar, to identify the relevant studies published from the inception until the present. VOSviewer and CitNetExplorer were used to analyze the data and provide visual representations. This study filled the research gap in understanding the top ten trending research themes, authors, organizations, countries, impact, characteristics, development, concerns, and solutions in ChatGPT for educational purposes. The study put forward suggestions for both researchers and practitioners. |
