| Abstract: | The purpose of this research is to learn about the daily life experiences of high school students with learning disabilities (LD) in different contexts and identify situations that may be related to LD in their experiences. The study group consists of 23 Turkish-speaking high school students with LD aged 14-18 in Türkiye. Data were collected using semi-structured interview techniques and individual interviews with all participants. Through thematic analysis, information on interpersonal relations, school and education, self-concept, and self-regulation was obtained. Results indicated that two key protective factors are social support and high-quality education. The assumption that LD inherently leads to adverse outcomes in all aspects of life is challenged by the study participants, who demonstrated positive experiences and maintained strong familial and social connections. Positive relations with family are found to be an important source of support for students. Findings were further discussed in relation to related research. |
