Abstract: Educational leaders and school communities are currently facing numerous challenges due to the widespread surge of violent threats in our schools. This case study is a powerful instrument that will inspire and guide future educational leaders in examining their contingency plans. By accounting for various possible obstacles to executing the threat assessment plan, leaders can significantly impact the future of education. The discussion questions and activity suggestions are designed to integrate educational leadership research specific to the case issues, providing a comprehensive understanding of the topic. Using the organizational accidents framework and Bolman and Deal's four Frames of leadership, leaders can identify gaps and challenges in their school community, enhancing their ability to pivot in different circumstances.
