Abstract: While mobile learning is increasingly discussed as an effective instructional practice, empirical research on supporting self-regulated learning (SRL) with appropriate design components in teacher education remains limited. In this study, we designed and developed a mobile app to enhance preservice teachers' SRL, applying SRL theoretical frameworks and design principles to support their SRL processes. Testing with 59 preservice teachers showed that the app significantly improved learning evaluation skills, a key SRL component, particularly among those with high prior SRL skills. The results, interpreted within the context of teacher education and learner-centered approaches, offer valuable insights for designing mobile applications. This study underscores the potential of well-designed mobile learning tools to support SRL in teacher education and suggests avenues for future research and development.
