| Abstract: | The University of Minnesota Duluth developed a medical Spanish class titled Advanced Spanish for Healthcare: Communication, Culture, and Ethics. This case study traces the trajectory of how this course was developed and how it was implemented with concomitant pedagogical tools. The course materials aim to further language skills, deepen intercultural competence and foster empathy. The respective sections pertain to strategic thinking in the creation of the class and the execution of the class. |
