| Abstract: | Incorporating global learning into college-level coursework can assist students in making connections between their studies and the world outside the classroom. However, for many students, traveling abroad and participating in firsthand experiences with students from diverse cultures might be challenging due to financial or academic schedule constraints. Hence, incorporating International Virtual Exchange (IVE) can provide students with a global classroom learning experience. In this course, students participated in educational field trips and explored local environmental challenges. They also expanded on these concepts in the IVE project where similar challenges were discussed at the global level. The project described here was implemented during the Spring 2023 semester in an introductory environmental science course. |
