Abstract: Examines influence of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) on local attitudes toward childhood and children's lived experiences in Vietnam. Examines attitudes of aid agency members working with those children, and suggests that members of organizations that uphold the CRC often assume that local people share their notion of what is meant by rights.
