Abstract (English): Using a process of adaptation, guidelines for the diagnosis, treament and prevention of urinary tract infection in premenopausal non-pregnant women were chosen and assessed. Three high quality guidelines were identified. Based on the evidence that supported these guidelines and their recommendations, a consensus was made to do recommendations for healthcare workers (physicians, laboratory personnel and nurses) on the diagnosis of urinary tract infections (cystitis and pyelonephritis), their treatment and the prevention of recurrence.
