Abstract (English): Objective: The aim of this study was to review research analizing whether levels of vitamin D, folic acid, B vitamins, iron and fatty acids during pregnancy are associated with depression during pregnancy and postpartum. Methods: A literature review on the databases PubMed, PsycINFO, Medline and Scopus from the studies published from January 2010 to July 2015 was conducted. Results: Low levels of vitamin D, iron, folates, group B vitamins and fatty acids have associated with major risk of depressive symptoms during pregnancy and postpartum period. Conclusions: It seems evident a possible association between the levels of these nutrients and the presence of depression, although there are few studies and in some cases the results are mixed.
