The objective of the present work and report as x Advantages disadvantages of CAD / CAM prosthetic structures in preparation optimization of the Agreement with Authors in the literature. Abstract (Portuguese): O sistema CAD/CAM consiste no scanner intra-oral ou do modelo de gesso com o CAD, enquanto o CAM é a máquina de fresagem, ou seja, o desenho de uma estrutura protética em um computador (Computer Aided Design) seguido da sua confecção por uma máquina de fresagem (Computer Aided Manufacturing). Com a evolução do sistema CAD/CAM e dos materiais dentários, está sendo possível minimizar o tempo de confecção dos preparos a fim de devolver ao paciente a estética almejada. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi relatar as Vantagens x desvantagens do sistema CAD/CAM na otimização de preparos de estruturas protéticas de acordo com autores encontrados na literatura.
