Abstract (English):	Suicide is a concern and relevant subject affecting the world's population, it constitutes a serious health problem that requires special attention, particularly in teenagers because of the increase in mortality in recent decades. To provide an overview of the suicidal behavior in the world, through the knowledge of the epidemiological aspects, the suicidal physiopathology, risk factors, the psychopathological profile of suicidal teenagers, as well as the most used methods to commit suicide, are the objectives of this review. Abstract (Spanish):	El suicidio es un tema preocupante y relevante que afecta a la población mundial. Debido al incremento de la mortalidad en las últimas décadas constituye un grave problema de salud que requiere especial atención particularmente en adolescentes. Ofrecer un panorama del comportamiento del suicidio en el mundo a través del conocimiento de los aspectos epidemiológicos, la fisiopatología del suicidio, los factores de riesgo, el perfil psicopatológico de los adolescentes suicidas, así como los métodos que más se utilizan para cometer suicidio constituyen los objetivos de esta revisión.
