| Abstract (English): | BACKGROUND: One of the first signs of aging belongs to the upper third of the face. At the same time, the height and shape of the eyebrows are key points of the periorbital aesthetics. A tired or sad look implies that the complex eyebrow-upper eyelid is showing one or more of this signs. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate long-term results of a technique for endoscopic brow lifting, consisting on minimal incisions, a biplanar dissection and a different fixation technique designed for helping reshape the brow. MATERIAL AND METHOD A retrospective study was made including patients submitted to brow lifting from 2010 to 2016, with six-month follow-up at least. RESULTS: Twenty-five patients were included that fulfilled the criteria for the study and were analyzed for brow position changes in height and shape. All the patients were treated by the senior authors using the technique described. In most patients (96%) long-term results were obtained. There not were cases with excessive elevation of the brow or esthetic bother referred by patients or considered by authors. There was not hematoma, seroma, paresis nor infections. CONCLUSIONS: This particular surgical technique has shown the advantage of being minimally invasive and effective. Careful analysis of the patient should be made to decide both the technique and the changes desired by the patient and the surgeon. | Abstract (Spanish): | ANTECEDENTES: uno de los primeros signos de envejecimiento se encuentra en el tercio superior facial. Al mismo tiempo, la altura y la forma de las cejas son puntos importantes en la estética de la periorbita. Un aspecto cansado o triste implica que el complejo cejas-párpado superior muestra algunos de estos signos. Se han descrito diferentes técnicas quirúrgicas y no quirúrgicas para el tratamiento de esta area, cada una esta orientada a hacer que el paciente tenga un aspecto natural o descansado. OBJETIVO: evaluar la eficacia de una técnica de elevación de la ceja basada en mínimas incisiones, disección biplanar y una modalidad diferente de fijación de la ceja que ayuda a remodelarla. MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: estudio retrospectivo que analizo a pacientes a los que se realizo elevación de cejas entre 2010 y 2016, con seguimiento mínimo de seis meses. RESULTADOS: se incluyeron 25 pacientes que reunieron los criterios de inclusion; se analizaron según los cambios en la posición y forma de las cejas. Todos los pacientes fueron operados por los autores principales con la técnica. Se obtuvieron resultados a largo plazo en la mayoría de los pacientes (96%). No se obtuvieron casos con elevación excesiva de la ceja o molestias estéticas referidas por los pacientes o consideradas por los autores. No existió hematoma, seroma, paresia o infecciones. CONCLUSIONES: este procedimiento ha mostrado la ventaja de ser mínimamente invasivo y efectivo. Se debe hacer un diagnostico cuidadoso de cada paciente para decidir la técnica y los cambios por hacer; esta técnica es una opcion de abordaje para la elevación y fijación de las cejas.
