Abstract (English):	Introduction: The work of miners of the Compañía Real del Monte y Pachuca was always dangerous, both for the risks that underground spaces involved and for the lack of suitable safety equipment and security measures. Article 123 of the Constitution of 1917 was a watershed in terms of workers' health, though they had to wait for more than a decade for its regulation, and for a longer period of time for the compliance with the Federal Labor Law. Abstract (Spanish):	Introducción: La labor de los trabajadores mineros de la Compañía Real del Monte y Pachuca fue siempre peligrosa, tanto por los riesgos que entrañaban los trabajos en los espacios subterráneos, como por la falta de adecuados equipo y medidas de seguridad. El Art. 123 de la Constitución de 1917 fue un parteaguas en materia de salud de los trabajadores, si bien hubo que esperar más de una década para que el mismo fuera reglamentado, y aún más tiempo para el cumplimiento de la Ley Federal del Trabajo.
