Abstract (English): The study aims to describe based on the literature the role of nurses in pre-hospital care in view of the difficulties and risks experienced. This is an integrative review conducted from January to April 2019, through the databases: LILACS, MEDLINE and BDENF. All incomplete articles, documents such as theses, dissertations and monographs, and works not available in Portuguese were excluded. The final sample consisted of 40 articles. According to the articles analyzed, it was observed that the first responder is responsible for the care during external care, and the main goals performed by this professional are the resuscitation and stabilization of the patient at the place of occurrence and during the transportation for fixed pre-service. Among the difficulties and risks encountered the authors highlight that the association of negative feelings to the daily labor of caring for others, since most of these professionals put their health at risk. Therefore, it is expected that this study can lead to the expansion of discussions about nursing work in pre-hospital care, enabling advances in structure and organizational conditions for a more satisfactory, qualified and Safe. Abstract (Portuguese): O estudo visa descrever com base na literatura a atuação do enfermeiro no atendimento pré-hospitalar frente as dificuldades e riscos vivenciados. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa realizada no período de janeiro a abril de 2019, por meio das bases de dados: LILACS, MEDLINE e BDENF. Foram excluídos todos os artigos incompletos, documentos como teses, dissertações e monografias, e trabalhos não disponíveis em português. A amostra final foi constituída por 40 artigos. De acordo com os artigos analisados observou-se que o socorrista é responsável pela assistência durante o atendimento externo, e as principais metas realizadas por esse profissional são a reanimação e a estabilização do paciente no local de ocorrência e durante o transporte para o pré-atendimento fixo. Entre as dificuldades e riscos encontrados os autores destacam que a associação de sentimentos negativos ao labor diário de cuidar do próximo, uma vez que, grande parte desses profissionais põe em risco a sua saúde. Diante disso, espera-se que esse estudo possa levar a ampliação das discussões sobre o trabalho da enfermagem na assistência pré-hospitalar, possibilitando avanços na estrutura e nas condições organizacionais para uma prática mais satisfatória, qualificada e segura.
