Abstract (English): OEIS complex is a set of congenital malformations that includes spinal defects, omphalocele, imperforate anus and bladder exstrophy. It is a rare condition, presenting an estimated occurrence in 1:200.000 to 1:400.000 pregnancies. it is not an easily diagnosed pathology during prenatal, and most of the cases result in the death of the fetus. Its etiology is still uncertain and little known and probably multifactorial. The prognosis of these patients are directly related with the severity of the malformations presented and with the quality of the prenatal. The multidisciplinary approach is of importance, as well as the family’s support. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Portuguese): O complexo de OEIS é um conjunto de malformações congênitas que incluem defeitos espinhais, onfalocele, ânus imperfurado e extrofia de bexiga. Se trata de uma condição rara, apresentando uma ocorrência estimada em 1:200.000 a 1:400.000 gestações. Não é uma patologia de fácil diagnóstico durante o pré-natal, e a maioria dos casos resultam em óbito fetal. Sua etiologia ainda é incerta e pouco conhecida e provavelmente multifatorial. O prognóstico desses pacientes está diretamente relacionado com a gravidade das malformações apresentadas e com a qualidade do pré-natal. A abordagem multidisciplinar é de uma importância, assim como o suporte familiar. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
