Abstract:	El profesor José Rafael Estrada González (1921-1991), considerado el padre de la Neurología en Cuba, tuvo una destacada labor no solo en el desarrollo de la neurología y neurociencias afines, sino también como investigador y publicista científico. El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo describir la obra científica publicada por Estrada González. Se revisaron 105 materiales publicados entre 1948 y 1999; entre los cuales se encuentran 99 artículos científicos (77 en revistas nacionales y 22 en internacionales), 4 libros, un Atlas y un capítulo de libro. La mayor parte de sus publicaciones fueron en el campo de la Neurología. Como investigador se destacó por los aportes realizados sobre el síndrome de Guillain Barré y la atrofia olivopontocerebelosa dominante descubierta por él en Holguín, que promovieron nuevos conocimientos en el estudio de estas enfermedades no solamente en Cuba, sino también en la comunidad científica internacional. Professor José Rafael Estrada González (1921-1991), who is considered to be the father of Neurology in Cuba, had an outstanding work not only in the development of neurology and related neurosciences, but also as a researcher and scientific publicist. The objective of this paper was to describe the scientific work published by Estrada González. One hundred six materials published between 1948 and 1999 were reviewed; among which are 100 scientific articles (77 in national journals and 23 in international ones), 4 books, an Atlas and a book chapter. Most of his publications were in the field of Neurology. As a researcher, he stood out for the contributions made on Guillain Barré Syndrome and the dominant olivopontocerebellar atrophy discovered by him in Holguín, which encouraged new knowledge in the study of these diseases not only in Cuba, but in the international scientific community, as well.
