| Abstract (English): | BACKGROUND: In many emergency departments, triage is not performed optimally, particularly in patients with ENT entities, and even more so, in those with balance disorders. OBJECTIVE: To design and test a medical application or "m-Health" that, without eliminating personal medical criteria or aggravating the user, could facilitate the work of filtering patients with probable vestibular affection, which indirectly would generate significant savings in time, human, financial and hospital resources. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A descriptive study done from March to September 2020. After the development of the beta model of the application, consisting of a dynamicdigital algorithm created from information from pre-existing guidelines published by international societies of otorhinolaryngology and otoneurology, 75 doctors from different hierarchies were invited to evaluate its usefulness, ease of use, and probability of download based on the technology acceptance model. RESULTS: About the complexity of use of the app 46/75 subjects considered it as "very easy" to use, 22/75 as "easy" to use and 7/75 as "regular". None potential user perceived it as "difficult" nor "very difficult" to use. CONCLUSIONS: Thanks to the existence of high-level scientific evidence regarding vestibular pathologies reproducible on a digital platform, a mobile application well structured does facilitate the triage of patients with vertigo. | Abstract (Spanish): | ANTECEDENTES: En muchos servicios de urgencias, el triage no se realiza de forma óptima, en particular cuando se trata de pacientes con afecciones otorrinolaringológicas, y más aún de aquellos con alteraciones del equilibrio. OBJETIVO: Diseñar y probar una aplicación médica (m-Health) que, sin eliminar el criterio médico personal ni agraviar al usuario, facilite la labor de filtrar pacientes con probable afección vestibular, lo que indirectamente genera un ahorro significativo de tiempo, recursos humanos, económicos y hospitalarios. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Estudio descriptivo efectuado entre marzo y septiembre de 2020. Luego del desarrollo del modelo beta de la aplicación, consistente en un algoritmo digital dinámico creado a partir de información de guías preexistentes publicadas por sociedades internacionales de otorrinolaringología y otoneurología, 75 médicos de distintas jerarquías fueron invitados a evaluar su utilidad, facilidad de uso y probabilidad de descarga con base en el modelo de aceptación de tecnologías. RESULTADOS: Respecto a la complejidad de uso de la aplicación 46/75 la calificaron como "muy fácil" de utilizar, 22/75 como "fácil" de utilizar y 7/75 como "regular". Ningún potencial usuario percibió que fuera "difícil" ni "muy difícil" de utilizar. CONCLUSIONES: Gracias a la existencia de evidencia científica de alto nivel respecto a enfermedades vestibulares reproducible en una plataforma digital, una aplicación móvil bien estructurada es capaz de facilitar el triage de pacientes con vértigo.
