Abstract (English): Introduction: The clinical doctor must know how injuries should be described and the forensic doctor, attached to the Public Ministry Agency, must also know how to structure the certificate-opinion of injuries, applying his knowledge through the scientific method in the examination of people (complainants and accused) according to the way it is done in forensic medicine and medical-clinical procedures (based on propaedeutics and semiology). Its use will allow you to identify, describe, interpret, diagnose and issue your conclusions about the perceived injuries and in the structuring of the certificate-opinion. Such capabilities are essential in the work of any forensic doctor; however, there are cases in which the certificates-opinions are incomplete and inadequate, so it is essential to review these procedures. The certificates-opinions constitute decisive evidence during criminal proceeding for the investigation of crimes by injuries; that is why the poor preparation of such certificates-opinions can lead to inaccuracies during the investigation, as well as to the discredit of the medical-forensic expert, as well as seriously harm the legal interpretation of the injuries and, therefore, those involved. Conclusion: One of the controversies caused by the medical-forensic evidence on the injuries that the people involved in a trial, is their inappropriate, inaccurate description or that the diagnosis is based on symptoms without clinical livelihood, or supported by laboratory studies and cabinet, causing that the conclusions of experts and investigative authorities, are wrong at the time of issuing their opinions or resolutions, respectively, affecting the imparting of justice.
