| Abstract (English): | Introduction. The occurrence of hypoplastic lesions with areas of enamel and/or dentine lost, due to pulpal infections and periapical lesions in temporary teeth, especially when there's a crypt rupture of the permanent germ, is known as Turner tooth or Turner hypoplasia. This article allows to the others doctors to identify the etiology and to assess the extension of premolar affection to predict the success of the possible restauration or to consider the extraction of the tooth. Case report. Case 1: male of seven-year-old, healthy. Toothache in the DO number 64, multiple caries, integral rehabilitation and conventional treatment. Case 2: male of five years-old, premature. Hospitalized due to of fever and tachycardia. Toothache in DO number 85, multiple caries, integral rehabilitation, and conventional treatment. Conclusions. Turner hypoplasia is a localized defect in enamel of permanent teeth, studies confirm the relationship between developmental defects in permanent dentition and untreated caries; there is a greater probability of occurrence the deep of the lesion. | Abstract (Spanish): | Introducción. La ocurrencia de lesiones hipoplásicas con áreas de pérdida o reducción del esmalte y/o dentina, debido a las infecciones pulpares y las lesiones periapicales en los dientes temporales, especialmente cuando hay una ruptura de la cripta del germen permanente, se conoce como diente de Turner o hipoplasia de Turner. Este artículo permite que los demás clínicos identifiquen la etiología y valoren la extensión de la afectación del premolar para predecir el éxito de la posible restauración o considerar la extracción del mismo. Reporte de caso. Caso 1: masculino de siete años de edad, sano. Odontalgia en el OD 64, múltiples caries y rehabilitación integral. Tratamiento convencional. Caso 2: masculino de cinco años de edad, prematuro, hospitalizado por fiebre y taquicardia. Odontalgia en el OD 85, múltiples caries, rehabilitación integral y tratamiento convencional. Conclusiones. La hipoplasia de Turner es un defecto localizado en el esmalte de dientes permanentes, estudios confirman una relación entre los defectos del desarrollo en dentición permanente y caries no tratada en dientes temporales; existe mayor probabilidad de aparición cuando mayor sea el tamaño de la lesión.
