| Abstract (English): | This text reflects on the coexistence of bioethics and medical ethics, celebrated in theory, but which in practice has shown fissures that culminated in the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. Briefly reviewing some areas of reflection, a tendency of bioethics to encompass medical ethics is observed, subtracting its specificity in the interpersonal protection of the doctor-patient relationship, which has been called the dehumanization of medicine, although the most appropriate term will be depersonalization of the clinical encounter. Medical ethics must recover supervision over medical practice, mitigating, without neglecting, the influence of bioethics delivered to the techno-scientific expansion of biomedicine.
