| Abstract (English): |
Fetal defects are structural anomalies that occur in the prenatal stage, being an important cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality. The frequency at the international level is 3%. The objective of the study was to establish the prevalence and maternal characteristics of pregnancies with fetal defects at the "Hospital Infantil del Estado de Sonora" during the period 2020-2022. The method used was a cross-sectional, observational and descriptive study. Data were collected from patients who ended their pregnancy in the gynecology and obstetrics area of our hospital. With a total of 11,667 births, both deliveries and cesarean sections. Malformations were documented in 322 births, which met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, with a prevalence of 2.75%. We obtained a prevalence that corresponds to the world literature, with the majority being cardiovascular malformations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
