| Abstract (English): | The objective of the research was to evaluate the benefits of the consumption of psychobiotics for depressive symptoms. An experimental study was carried out on a sample of 44 participants, divided into an experimental group and a control group. The Zung Self-Rating Depression Scalee (SDS) was used as an instrument. The results showed a decrease in depression scores in the experimental group, with significant differences between the groups and study phases (p<0.05). In addition, a moderate effect size was found (d=0.63; Δ=0.58), resulting in the consumption of psychobiotics being moderately effective for the reduction of depressive symptoms. | Abstract (Spanish): | El objetivo de la investigación fue evaluar los beneficios del consumo de psicobióticos en la sintomatología depresiva. Se realizó un estudio experimental en una muestra de 44 participantes, divididos en un grupo experimental y un grupo control. Se utilizó como instrumento la escala de Auto evaluación de Depresión de Zung (SDS). Los resultados mostraron una disminución de las puntuaciones de depresión en el grupo experimental con diferencias significativas entre los grupos y fases de estudio (p<0.05). Además, se encontró un tamaño de efecto moderado (d=0.63; Δ=0.58); resultando el consumo de psicobióticos moderadamente eficaz para la reducción de sintomatología depresiva. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
