| Abstract (English): |
Objective: To locate with georeference the frail participants residing in the selected neighborhoods in the city of Popayán (Colombia). Material and methods: Cross-sectional study with a sample of 501 people aged 60 and over, in terms of geolocation, Google Earth and Qgis 2.16 software was used to prepare the thematic maps, the frailty variable was taken using the FRAIL scale, under the determinants approach. Results: 8.0 % of the people surveyed were classified as at risk of frailty, of which 54.0 % were women, with an average age of 71 years. The distribution of fragility was uneven in the selected neighborhoods, with greater commitment of women. Conclusions: Variation and increase in the prevalence of frailty was identified, according to age and neighborhoods of Popayán; affecting women, for which those responsible for public health decisions can be favored to plan and manage strategies to address the needs of the population to provide better living conditions in old age. Objetivo: Ubicar con georreferencia los participantes frágiles residentes en los barrios seleccionados en la ciudad de Popayán (Colombia). Materiales y métodos: Estudio transversal con una muestra de 501 personas de 60 y más años; en cuanto a la geolocalización, se utilizó el software Google Earth y Qgis 2.16 para elaborar los mapas temáticos; la variable fragilidad se tomó mediante la escala FRAIL, bajo el enfoque de los determinantes. Resultados: El 8,0 % de las personas encuestadas fueron clasificadas en riesgo de fragilidad, de las cuales el 54,0 % eran mujeres, con una media para la edad de 71 años. La distribución de la fragilidad se mostró de forma desigual en los barrios seleccionados, con mayor compromiso de las mujeres. Conclusiones: Se identificó variación e incremento de la prevalencia de fragilidad, según la edad y los barrios de Popayán; con afectación en mujeres; para lo cual se puede favorecer a los encargados de las decisiones en salud pública para planificar y gestionar estrategias de atención a las necesidades de la población para brindar mejores condiciones de vida en la vejez.
