| Abstract (English): | Introduction: Congenital Hypothyroidism (CH) is a pathology characterized by thyroid hormone deficiency which, if not treated immediately, causes severe irreversible mental retardation. It’s detection is mandatory by National Law No. 26.279. It is assumed that, during the pandemic, the diagnosis time was affected. This work describes the development of neonatal screening for this pathology in children of the public sector in the province of Santa Fe during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Methods: quantitative, descriptive, observational, cross-sectional, retrospective analysis of 76 patients with positive neonatal screening (NS) diagnosed with congenital hypothyroidism and/or hyperthyrotropinemia during the period 01- 01-2020 to 31-12-2021. Results: All variables suffered alterations. The quality of sample collection (SC) decreased by 27%, transport had 25% of delayed cards, the analysis was effective in 69%, the location of children with positive PN in optimal time was 21%, and the definitive diagnosis on time was 42%, with an average of 24 days ± 11. | Abstract (Spanish): | Introducción: El Hipotiroidismo Congénito (HC) es una patología caracterizada por la deficiencia de hormonas tiroideas que, si no es tratado inmediatamente, provoca retraso mental severo irreversible. Su detección es obligatoria por Ley Nacional N° 26.279. Se supone que, durante la pandemia, el tiempo de diagnóstico resultó afectado. Este trabajo describe el desarrollo de la pesquisa neonatal (PN) para esta patología en los niños del sector público de la provincia de Santa Fe durante la pandemia por coronavirus (COVID-19). Métodos: análisis cuantitativo, descriptivo, observacional, transversal, retrospectivo de 76 pacientes con PN positiva diagnosticados con HC y/o Hipertirotropinemias durante el período 01-01-2020 al 31-12-2021. Resultados: Todas las variables sufrieron alteraciones. La calidad de toma de muestra (TM) disminuyó un 27%, el transporte tuvo un 25% de tarjetas demoradas, el análisis fue eficaz en un 69%, la localización de niños con PN positiva en tiempo óptimo fue un 21%, y el diagnóstico definitivo a tiempo fue del 42%, con un promedio de 24 días ± 11. Conclusión: Se verifico que la PN para HC de los recién nacidos (RN) del sector público de la provincia de Santa Fe durante la pandemia, sufrió alteración de los tiempos históricos de las distintas etapas de su algoritmo diagnóstico. Los indicadores de proceso y de calidad más afectados fueron en orden decreciente: etapa post-analítica, etapa analítica y, por último, la etapa pre-analítica.
