Abstract (English): The aim of the present study was to evaluate the ethnobotany, total phenolic content, and flavonoid content of the species Corymbia citriodora (Hook.) K.D. Hill & L.A.S. Johnson. The species was identified in the Herbarium Truxillense, and ethnobotanical information was collected from herbalists. Three extracts were prepared by batch extraction, and the total phenolic and flavonoid contents were quantified. Corymbia citriodora had the highest indication for treating bronchitis (39.1%), and the most frequent preparation method was infusion using leaves, often combined with matico (35.7%). The hydroethanolic extract of the plant yielded a total phenolic content of 118.65 mg EAG/g DS and a flavonoid content of 33.95 mg EQC/g DS. Corymbia citriodora shows efficacy in improving respiratory diseases due to its high concentration of phenolic and flavonoid bioactives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
K.D. Hill & L.A.S. Johnson. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
