| Abstract (English): | In recent years, the specialization in cardiopulmonary physiotherapy has grown exponentially, promoting more scientific research in this field, as well as the growth and continuous improvement of degree programs. Objective: To describe alternative metrics for the research outputs from 2009 to 2019 of the cardiopulmonary physiotherapy specialization at a public university located in the southwestern part of Colombia. Materials and methods: Data for this documentary research was gathered from the institutional repository. Results: Sixteen of the fifty-eight research papers discovered were also publications. With four published articles, 2017 had the highest publishing rate (25 %), while 2013 (33 %) and 2014 (39 %) had the highest citation rates. 88 % of the articles were published in Spanish. The productivity index with the highest value was 0.85, with 66 % of writers publishing only once throughout the analyzed time period. Conclusion: Although the results showed low scientific productivity, this study is key to the visibility of specialization and the increase of evidence in physiotherapy in the pulmonary cardiovascular area. | Abstract (Spanish): | El nivel de especialización en fisioterapia cardiopulmonar ha presentado un crecimiento exponencial en los últimos años, lo cual ha favorecido, de alguna manera, la investigación científica en el área, el desarrollo y mejoramiento continuo de los programas. Objetivo: Caracterizar las métricas alternativas de los productos de investigación de la especialización en fisioterapia cardiopulmonar de una universidad pública del suroccidente colombiano desde 2009 a 2019. Materiales y métodos: Estudio documental que obtuvo información bibliométrica del repositorio institucional. Resultados: Fueron identificadas 16 publicaciones derivadas de 58 trabajos de investigación. El año 2017 fue el de mayor publicación, con 4 artículos (25 %), y los años de mayor citación fueron 2013 (33 %) y 2014 (39 %). El 88 % de los artículos fueron publicados en español. El mayor índice de productividad fue de 0,85. El 66 % de los autores publicaron una sola vez en el periodo analizado. Conclusión: Aunque los resultados mostraron productividad científica baja, este estudio es clave para la visibilidad de la especialización y el incremento de la evidencia en fisioterapia en el área cardiovascular pulmonar.
