| Abstract (English): | Medicines are pharmaceutical forms obtained for therapeutic purposes, aimed at treatment, thus making drugs indispensable for human health. Given this reality, the generic drug policy in Brazil was created and implemented by Law 9.787/99, which established generics as identical to reference drugs, Objective: To analyze the differences between the sales of generic, similar, and reference drugs. Methodology: This is a empiric, quantitative and exploratory field research, held in a drugstore in the city of Teresina/PI, throughout 2023. Data was collected through the pharmacy's electronic sales registration systems. Sales data of drugs in the generic, similar, and reference categories were analyzed using GraphPad Prism version 5.0 software and analyzed by the IBM SPSS Statistics 2024 program. Results: It was identified that similar drugs had the highest number of sales in 2023, both in the first and second half of the year, followed by the number of sales of reference drugs, despite their decline compared to the first and second half of the year, and finally, generics had the lowest number of sales in 2023. Conclusion: The results reveal a clear transitional trend in purchasing behavior, with a growing preference for more economical and effective medicines. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
| Abstract (Portuguese): | Os medicamentos são formas farmacêuticas obtidas com a finalidade terapêutica para fins de tratamento, com isso os fármacos são indispensáveis para a saúde humana. Diante desta realidade foi então criada a política dos medicamentos genéricos no Brasil, implantada pela Lei 9.787/99 que estabeleceu genérico como idêntico ao de referência. Objetivo: Analisar as diferenças entre a venda de medicamentos genéricos, similares e de referência. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma pesquisa empírica, de campo, quantitativa e exploratória, realizada em uma drogaria da cidade de Teresina/PI, ao longo do ano de 2023. A coleta foi realizada por meio dos sistemas eletrônicos de registro de vendas da farmácia, foram analisados dados de vendas de medicamentos através do software GraphPad Prism versão 5.0 e analisados pelo programa IBM SPSS Statistics 2024. Resultados: Foi identificado que os similares possuíram o maior número de vendas em 2023, seguido pelo número de vendas dos de referência apesar do seu declínio em comparação entre o primeiro e segundo semestre e por fim os genéricos tiveram o menor número de vendas no ano de 2023. Conclusão: Os resultados revelam uma tendência clara de transição no comportamento de compra, com uma crescente preferência por medicamentos mais econômicos e eficazes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
