Abstract (English): Objective: To describe the characteristics of male breast cancer in patients treated at Clínica Alemana de Santiago and to relate the observed reality with the available evidence. Materials and Methods: A retrospective descriptive study. All male patients treated for breast cancer at our center between January 2014 and April 2024 were included. Data were collected from the institution’s authorized REDcap database. Results: Ten patients met the search criteria. The main reason for consultation was a retroareolar nodule. All patients underwent mammography and breast ultrasound. The majority of cases were diagnosed at stages 0, I, and II (80%), although one case of metastatic disease was observed. The most common type was invasive ductal carcinoma of the luminal B subtype (80%). Nine patients underwent therapy with curative intent, and most underwent total mastectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsy. Seven patients received adjuvant hormone therapy, three received radiotherapy, and four received chemotherapy. Discussion: In our series, some advanced-stage cases were noted, contrasting with European and American series, reflecting lower awareness in the region. We also observed a deficit in conducting recommended genetic studies. Treatment follows guidelines used in women, but key differences must be considered. Conclusion: Given the lack of large studies in Latin America, case series like this help study this pathology in our population. Abstract (Spanish): Objetivo: Describir las características del cáncer de mama en hombres atendidos en Clínica Alemana de Santiago y relacionar la realidad observada con la evidencia disponible. Material y Métodos: Estudio retrospectivo descriptivo. Se incluyó a todos los pacientes de sexo masculino, tratados por cáncer de mama en nuestro centro entre enero de 2014 y abril de 2024. Los datos fueron recolectados de la base de datos REDcap autorizada por la institución. Resultados: Se identificaron 10 pacientes con los criterios de búsqueda utilizados. El principal motivo de consulta fue nódulo retro areolar. Todos se estudiaron con mamografía y ecografía mamaria. La mayoría de los casos se presentaron en etapas 0, I y II (80%), pero destaca una consulta con enfermedad metastásica. Lo más común fue carcinoma ductal invasor tipo luminal B (80%). Nueve pacientes fueron a terapia con intención curativa y en la mayoría se realizó mastectomía total más biopsia de linfonodo centinela. 7 pacientes recibieron hormonoterapia adyuvante, 3 radioterapia y 4 quimioterapia. Discusión: En nuestra serie destacan algunas consultas en etapas avanzadas, contrastando con series europeas y americanas, reflejando la menor conciencia en la región. Observamos, además un déficit en la realización de estudios genéticos recomendados. El tratamiento sigue las guías utilizadas en mujeres, pero hay diferencias claves que hay que considerar. Conclusión: Ante la falta de grandes estudios a nivel latinoamericano, series de casos como esta ayudan a estudiar esta patología en nuestra población. Se observó concordancia con estudios internacionales, pero es esencial aumentar la concientización y mejorar el acceso a estudios genéticos.
