BACKGROUND: The psychoneuroimmunoendocrinology is the study of the relationship among the psyche, neurological system, its immune responses and the endocrine apparatus. It consists of the study of different environmental stimuli and genetic and epigenetic factors, by means of diverse pathways and body axis, concluding in diverse diseases. OBJECTIVE: To inform and emphasize the relationship between psychoneuroimmuno-endocrinology, its axis, and its implications in the field of Dermatology, as innovators of basic and clinical research. METHODOLOGY: A search in the PubMed database was done. Articles which emphasized on diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases and its relationship with psycho-neuroimmunoendocrinology and its variants, done from 2000 to 2023 in Spanish and English, were chosen. The keywords used for this search were: Psychoneuroimmuno-endocrinology, psychoneuroendocrinology-skin, psychology-skin, neuroendocrinology-skin, neuroimmunology-skin. RESULTS: We found 294 articles, and 31 were chosen for their relevance to the search topic. We excluded 263 articles due to lack of relevance. CONCLUSIONS: The psychological effect on different endocrine and immunological axis is manifested in skin diseases. Question if psychosocial interventions may favor prognosis of acute and chronic skin diseases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

ANTECEDENTES: La psiconeuroinmunoendocrinología es el estudio de la relación entre el aparato psíquico, neural, sus respuestas inmunitarias y el sistema endocrino. Consiste en el estudio de diferentes estímulos ambientales y de factores genéticos y epigenéticos a través de diversas vías y ejes corporales. OBJETIVOS: Informar e insistir en la relación entre la psiconeuroinmunoendocrinología, los diversos ejes que la conforman y sus implicaciones en el campo de la Dermatología como promotores de nueva investigación básica y clínica para la solución futura de enfermedades interrelacionadas. METODOLOGÍA: Búsqueda en la base de datos de PubMed. Se escogieron artículos con hincapié en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de enfermedades cutáneas y su relación con la psiconeuroinmunoendocrinología y sus vertientes, publicados entre los años 2000 y 2023 en español e inglés. Las palabras clave utilizadas para la búsqueda de la bibliografía fueron: psiconeuroinmunoendocrinología, psiconeuroendocrinología-piel, neuroendocrinología-piel, neuroinmunología-piel. RESULTADOS: Se encontraron 294 artículos relacionados y se escogieron 31 por su relevancia. CONCLUSIONES: El efecto psicológico en los diferentes ejes endocrinos e inmunológicos se manifiesta en enfermedades de la piel. Se abre la cuestión de si las intervenciones psicosociales pueden favorecer el pronóstico de enfermedades de la piel agudas y crónicas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
