Abstract (English): Introduction and goals: Impella® is a left ventricular assist device that can be used to facilitate high-risk coronary angioplasty, in the treatment of cardiogenic shock, high-risk percutaneous coronary intervention, and as a bridge to heart transplantation. The objective of this case was to establish a nursing care plan for patients carrying the Impella ® 5.5 ventricular assist device, implanted transaxillary. Material and Methods: A nursing assessment was carried out following the Virginia Henderson 14 needs model during the early mobilization of the patient. A care plan was drawn up using NANDA-NOC-NIC taxonomy. The results were evaluated with a Likert scale. Results and conclusions: We highlight the following diagnoses: Impaired physical mobility; Anxiety; Ineffective health self-management; Risk of accidental decannulation, bending or kinking, and Risk of decreased cardiac output. Risk of Infection and Risk of bleeding were the main collaboration problems. The nursing role is key to promoting the safe and early mobilization of these patients, helping to prevent and reduce complications associated with prolonged bed rest. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
