Abstract (English): Introduction: Siderophores are low molecular weight peptides with specific activity to chelate ferric ions and other metals. Bacteria, fungi, plants and some mammals have the ability to produce these metabolites, which have been widely studied to understand their mechanism. Within the siderophores there are different groups of metabolites, metabolites, the pyoverdines are found within the mixed group which, when chelating iron, interact with specific membrane receptors that capture the pyoverdines again, and it enters the cell with the iron complex. -pyoverdina. From the best pyoverdineproducing microorganism, the pyoverdine extract was obtained to analyze its activity with the metal. Conclusions: Microorganisms tolerate the presence of lead, but not cadmium and mercury, affecting population cell density. Abstract (Spanish): Introducción: Los sideróforos son péptidos de bajo peso molecular con actividad específica para quelar iones férricos y otros metales. Las bacterias, hongos, plantas y algunos mamíferos tienen la capacidad de producir estos metabolitos, los cual han sido ampliamente estudiados para comprender su mecanismo. Dentro de los sideróforos se encuentras diferentes grupos de metabolitos, metabolitos, las pioverdinas se encuentran dentro del grupo mixto las cuales al quelar el hierro interactúan con unos receptores de membrana específicos que captan nuevamente las pioverdinas, y esta ingresa a la célula con el complejo hierro-pioverdina. Este mecanismo supone una propuesta de estudio, que permita identificar una interacción del metabolito con otros metales, con el fin de plantear una alternativa para remover metales pesados a nivel ambiental, y de esta manera, minimizar efectos negativos que se puedan generar a nivel de la salud humana o ambiental. Objetivo: Este proyecto evalúa la producción de pioverdina, en presencia de metales pesados y su interacción con el extracto. Metodología y resultados: Diferentes microorganismos productores de pioverdinas, se expusieron a diferentes concentraciones de cadmio, mercurio y plomo, para evaluar la densidad celular y relacionar la capacidad de producción de pioverdina en presencia de los metales, teniendo en cuenta como control un medio sin metales. Del mejor microorganismo productor de pioverdinas, se obtuvo el extracto de pioverdina para analizar su actividad con el metal. Conclusiones: Los microorganismos toleran la presencia de plomo, pero no la de Cadmio y mercurio, afectando la densidad celular poblacional.
