Abstract (English): Introduction: Childbirth is characterized by different stages: dilation, expulsion and delivery. Within these phases, physical therapy can use different procedures in order to provide comfort and pain relief to the mother. The objective of this work is to analyze the scientific literature about the effectiveness of physiotherapy on variables related to childbirth, such as pain, pushing, duration, delaying the time of epidural and anxiety, among others. Method: A bibliographic search was carried out during December 2023 and January 2024, in the PubMed, PEDro, Cinahl, Scopus, Medline, Web of Science and Cochrane databases. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in English and Spanish were selected. Results: 13 articles were selected after applying elegibility criteria. Conclusion: The various techniques provided from the field of physiotherapy can provide benefits during labor, although future studies are needed where the applied techniques have similar characteristics both in application and measurement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
