| Abstract (English): | Introduction: The Competition Yearly Health Rewards, constitutes the most important recognition that grants the Public Health Ministry every year to the professionals with outstanding results in the investigations linked to medical sciences, in correspondence with the objectives, priorities and challenges of the National Health System. Objective: To analyze the work of Scientific Societies in Santiago de Cuba in the development of the Annual Prize of health in the period corresponding to the year 2023. Methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out. The theoretical methods were used, as well as statistic descriptive inferencial methods, the works that competed for the Annual Prize of Health corresponding to 2023 that are evaluated in 2024 in all categories were taken. Results: Among all categories 32 works were presented where 43.7 % corresponded to the University of Medical Sciences, also Oriente University was notable with 5 works (15.6 %) personified by 5 authors. The category of scientific article was the most represented in 28.1 % and the most winning. The result of the work was satisfactory with high grade of novelty in the investigations. | Abstract (Spanish): | Introducción: El Concurso Premio Anual de la Salud, constituye el reconocimiento más importante que otorga el Ministerio de Salud Pública cada año, a los profesionales con resultados relevantes en las investigaciones vinculadas a las ciencias médicas, en correspondencia con los objetivos, prioridades y retos del Sistema Nacional de Salud. Objetivo: Analizar el trabajo de las Sociedades Científicas en Santiago de Cuba en el desarrollo del Premio Anual de la salud en el periodo correspondiente al año 2023. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo, de corte transversal. Se utilizaron los métodos teóricos, así como métodos de estadística descriptiva inferencial, se tomaron los trabajos que concursaron para el Premio Anual de la Salud correspondientes al 2023 que se evalúa en el 2024, en todas sus categorías. Resultados: Se presentaron 32 trabajos entre todas las categorías, donde 43,7 %, correspondieron a la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas, destacándose además la Universidad de Oriente con 5 trabajos (15,6 %) personificado por 5 autores. La categoría de artículo científico fue la más representada en 28,1 % y la más premiada. El resultado del trabajo fue satisfactorio con alto grado de novedad en las investigaciones.
