| Abstract (English): | Since May 1945, the Technical Council of the Faculty of Medicine at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) has analyzed and resolved the daily matters of the academic institution related to its core activities: teaching, research, and service. As the successor of other collegiate bodies, its members bring together a diverse range of perspectives --an expression of its university nature-- who continually engage in dialogue in search of the best ways to fulfill their duties. This text presents an overview of the processes that have shaped this collegiate body over eight decades. It begins with a description of the first matters addressed by the Council, which helped shape the agenda of the organization. The review explores the processes that consolidated its structure to deal with issues related to the teaching staff, curricula, student participation, as well as the renewal of authorities or the resolution of special cases. These aspects, at the same time, prompt reflection on its own constitution and that of its administrative structure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
| Abstract (Spanish): | Desde mayo de 1945, el Consejo Técnico de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) analiza y resuelve asuntos cotidianos de la entidad académica, relacionados con sus actividades esenciales: docencia, investigación y servicio. Heredero de otros órganos colegiados, reúne entre sus miembros un mosaico de perspectivas --expresión de su naturaleza universitaria-- que dialogan continuamente en busca de la mejor forma de cumplir con sus deberes. En esta oportunidad, se presenta un panorama de los procesos que han moldeado este cuerpo colegiado a lo largo de ocho décadas. Inicia con la narración de los primeros asuntos atendidos por el Consejo, los cuales van perfilando la agenda de este organismo. Se revisan los procesos que consolidaron su estructura para atender los asuntos relacionados con la planta docente, los planes de estudio, la participación del estudiantado, así como la renovación de autoridades o, bien, la resolución de casos especiales. Aspectos que, al mismo tiempo, obligan a la reflexión acerca de su propia constitución y la de su órgano administrativo. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
