Abstract (English): Functional constipation is a common condition in the pediatric population, affecting up to 29.6% of children, and is a frequent reason for consultation in primary care and emergency departments. Its diagnosis is based on clinical symptoms and does not require imaging studies. However, the use of abdominal X-rays is common, despite their low sensitivity and specificity, which can lead to misdiagnoses, unnecessary costs, and radiation exposure. Despite recommendations from international guidelines such as ESPGHAN and NASPGHAN to avoid the routine use of these X-rays, their use remains high in medical practice--especially in emergency departments. This represents a significant challenge for healthcare professionals in the appropriate management of functional constipation in children. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
