| Abstract (English): | BACKGROUND: Mucinous carcinoma of the skin is rare. CLINICAL CASE: A 42-year-old female patient with left cervical lymph node disease, in which cutaneous mucinous carcinoma of the scalp was diagnosed. One of the biggest challenges was differentiating whether it was a primary cutaneous neoplasm or an underlying metastatic process. Surgical resection of the primary tumor plus left cervical lymph node dissection was performed. The patient subsequently received adjuvant chemotherapy with the FOLFOX 4 regimen with adequate tolerance. CONCLUSIONS: It is necessary to carry out a correct clinical-radiological-histological correlation and consider that primary mucinous cutaneous carcinoma is a diagnosis of exclusion, ruling out the existence of a primary tumor in another organ.
