Abstract (English): BACKGROUND: Neurofibroma is a benign tumor originating from Schwann cells, characterized by its asymptomatic clinic initially with slowly progressive growth. It is a rare disease in head and neck, it is reported in less than 4%. CLINICAL CASE: A 23-year-old female patient who began her illness in 2019 with data of right nasal obstruction, right hyaline rhinorrhea, as well as progressive enlargement of the right malar region. The computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging evidenced a lesion in the right maxillary sinus. An open approach was decided due to the size of the lesion with a submental orotracheal shunt, infraorbital, sublabial and Lefort 1 approach, without aesthetic deformity, with postoperative surveillance with right xerophthalmia and hypoaesthesia of the right malar region, without major complications or recurrence. CONCLUSIONS: Solitary neurofibroma is uncommon in the nasosinusal tract, in this case an open approach was performed for surgical excision, with minimal aesthetic deformity, in addition to a reconstruction of the orbital floor. Abstract (Spanish): ANTECEDENTES: El neurofibroma es un tumor benigno originado de las células de Schwann, caracterizado por su curso asintomático, inicialmente con crecimiento lentamente progresivo. Es una enfermedad rara en la cabeza y el cuello, se reporta en menos del 4%. CASO CLÍNICO: Paciente femenina de 23 años, cuyo padecimiento inició en 2019 con datos de obstrucción nasal derecha, rinorrea hialina derecha, así como aumento progresivo de la región malar derecha. La tomografía computada y la resonancia magnética evidenciaron una lesión en el seno maxilar derecho. Se decidió acceso abierto por las dimensiones de la lesión con derivación orotraqueal submental, acceso infraorbitario, sublabial y Lefort 1, sin deformidad estética, con vigilancia posquirúrgica con xeroftalmia derecha e hipoestesia de la región malar derecha, sin mayores complicaciones ni recidiva. CONCLUSIONES: El neurofibroma solitario es poco común en la vía nasosinusal. Se practicó acceso abierto para escisión quirúrgica, con mínima deformidad estética, además de una reconstrucción del piso de la órbita. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
