Abstract (English): Partial tooth loss affects functions such as chewing, speech, and aesthetics, compromising the patient's quality of life and overall health. Removable partial dentures (RPDs) emerge as an effective alternative in cases where dental implants are not viable, whether due to anatomical, financial, or systemic limitations. The success of this type of rehabilitation depends on careful planning, which includes prosthesis design, abutment tooth support, and periodic adjustments. This study is a literature review conducted in the PubMed and BVS/LILACS databases, using the descriptors "Removable Partial Denture," "Dental Prosthesis Planning," and "Partially Edentulous Arch." After screening using inclusion and exclusion criteria, 12 articles were selected. The findings highlight the importance of history taking and systemic evaluation, especially in patients with comorbidities such as diabetes, which affect prosthesis fit. Intraoral evaluation and the use of technologies such as digitais scanning and CAD/CAM software increase treatment accuracy and predictability. The balance of masticatory forces and the appropriate choice of materials directly impact prosthesis durability and patient satisfaction, as demonstrated by instruments such as the OHIP-14. Therefore, the integration of technology and clinical knowledge is essential for effective rehabilitation with RPDs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
