Abstract (English): Introduction. Stage IV periodontitis represents the most severe degree of periodontal destruction. It is characterized by significant loss of clinical attachment and supporting bone, which can lead to the loss of multiple teeth, occlusal collapse, and difficulty chewing. In these cases, it is also essential to consider the individual risk of the patient. Grade C indicates rapid progression of the disease, disproportionate to the local factors present. Case report. A 64-year-old male patient presented to the Periodontics Clinic at the Popular Autonomous University of the State of Puebla, that he was unable to eat. Alter a clinical evaluation, an interdisciplinary approach was taken between periodontics and prosthodontics, in accordance with the clinical guideline for stage IV patients sugested by European Federation of Periodontology (EDF). Conclusions. It has been demonstrated that following the EFP treatment stages recommended to stabilize periodontal tissues, along with restorative interventions, significantly contributes to the recovery function, aesthetics, and improved quality of life for the patient. These positive outcomes are made possible through precise clinical intervention and continuous, appropriate follow-up care. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): Introducción. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
