Abstract (English): Objective. To estimate the prevalence of non-fatal unintentional injuries (UIs) and their associated factors in the Mexican population. Materials and methods. Cross-sectional study using data from the Encuesta Nacional de Salud y Nutrición 2021-2024. The prevalence of UIs was estimated, and a logistic regression model was used to analyze associated factors. Results. The prevalence of UIs was 5.9% (95%CI: 5.6,6.3), equivalent to approximately 7.6 million people. It was higher among men (7.1%; 95%CI: 6.5,7.7%) and adolescents (6.7%; 95%CI: 5.8,7.7%) in Mexico City or the State of Mexico. Conclusions. Around 7.6 million persons suffer injuries each year and use health services. The implementation of differentiated interventions and prevention policies with a life-course and equity-based approach is urgently needed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): Resumen Objetivo. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
