Abstract (English): The article focuses on a consensus document regarding the diagnosis and treatment of acute kidney injury (AKI), which is a syndrome characterized by a rapid decrease in glomerular filtration rate. Current classifications, such as KDIGO, are discussed, which are recommended for the diagnosis and stratification of AKI, and the importance of early detection through biomarkers is emphasized. Additionally, treatment strategies are addressed, including fluid therapy and the use of diuretics, as well as the need for proper follow-up to prevent progression to chronic kidney disease. The document also mentions the relevance of kidney biopsy in certain cases and the implementation of electronic alert systems to improve the detection of AKI in clinical settings. Además, se abordan las estrategias de tratamiento, incluyendo la fluidoterapia y el uso de diuréticos, así como la necesidad de un seguimiento adecuado para prevenir la progresión a enfermedad renal crónica.
