| Abstract (English): | Humanization is a concept that involves all health service providers who are involved in the direct and indirect care of the patient. Raising awareness and putting it into practice from the different tasks could change dental services in Colombia. Prioritizing the human, knowing concepts such as dignity, autonomy, justice, compassion, otherness, reciprocity and mercy could lead the dental professional to do their job aimed at humanizing the service. | Abstract (Spanish): | La humanización es un concepto que involucra a todos los prestadores de servicios de salud que están inmersos en la atención directa e indirecta del paciente. Concientizarla y ponerla en práctica desde las diferentes labores podría cambiar los servicios odontológicos en Colombia. Priorizar al ser humano, conocer conceptos como dignidad, autonomía, justicia, compasión, alteridad, reciprocidad y piedad podría conducir al profesional en odontología a ejercer una práctica encaminada a la humanización del servicio. Conscientizá-lo e colocá-lo em prática em diferentes áreas de atuação pode transformar o atendimento odontológico na Colômbia. Priorizar a pessoa humana e compreender conceitos como dignidade, autonomia, justiça, compaixão, alteridade, reciprocidade e misericórdia pode levar os profissionais da odontologia a praticar serviços voltados à humanização do atendimento.
