| Abstract (English): | Introduction: The research examines whether the program addresses the needs of individuals and communities. Objective: To analyze the relevance of the Speech-Language Pathology program at the University of Sucre. Methodology: A quantitative approach with a non-experimental, descriptive design. The population consisted of graduates and employers from organizations where the graduates were employed. A questionnaire was administered to assess the quality and relevance of the training in the program. Results: Regarding the theoretical, theoretical-practical, and attitudinal knowledge acquired, as well as the quality of teaching, class development, and the materials and equipment used during the training, graduates expressed a high level of satisfaction. Employers, on the other hand, considered that the performance of competencies in the areas of scientific-humanistic, professional, and flexible training adequately aligned with the expected professional profile. Conclusions: The high level of satisfaction among graduates regarding the competencies acquired in various relevant areas indicates the relevance of the curriculum. As for the employers, the domains and competencies of knowledge, skills, and attitudes showed that the training provided by the program is pertinent, ensuring the professional performance of speech-language pathologists in the workplace. | Abstract (Spanish): | Introducción: La investigación conduce a sí el programa responde a necesidades de individuos y comunidades. Objetivo: Analizar la pertinencia del programa de Fonoaudiología de la Universidad de Sucre. Metodología: enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, de tipo descriptivo; la población estuvo conformada por egresados y empleadores de las organizaciones donde se encontraban laborando; se aplicó un cuestionario para valorar la calidad y pertinencia de la formación en el programa. Resultados: En cuanto a los conocimientos teóricos, teórico-prácticos y actitudinales adquiridos, así como la calidad docente, el desarrollo de las clases, el material y los equipos utilizados durante la formación, los egresados expresaron un alto nivel de satisfacción. Por su parte, los empleadores consideraron que el desempeño de las competencias en las áreas de formación científico-humanística, profesional y flexible correspondía adecuadamente al perfil profesional esperado. Conclusiones: El alto grado de satisfacción de los egresados respecto a las competencias adquiridas en los diversos saberes considerados relevantes evidencia la pertinencia del plan de estudios. En cuanto a los empleadores, los dominios y competencias del saber, hacer y ser mostraron que la formación proporcionada por el programa es pertinente, lo que asegura el desempeño profesional del fonoaudiólogo en el ámbito laboral. | Abstract (Portuguese): | Introdução: A investigação conduz a si o programa responde às necessidades dos indivíduos e das comunidades. Objetivo: Analisar a pertinência do programa de Fonoaudiologia da Universidade de Sucre. Metodologia: abordagem quantitativa, desenho não experimental, de tipo descritivo; a população foi composta por graduados e empregadores das organizações onde trabalhavam; foi aplicado um questionário para avaliar a qualidade e a pertinência da formação no programa. Resultados: Em relação aos conhecimentos teóricos, teórico-práticos e atitudinais adquiridos, bem como à qualidade do ensino, ao desenvolvimento das aulas, ao material e aos equipamentos utilizados durante a formação, os graduados expressaram um alto nível de satisfação. Por sua vez, os empregadores consideraram que o desempenho das competências nas áreas de formação científica-humanística, profissional e flexível correspondia adequadamente ao perfil profissional esperado. Conclusões: O alto grau de satisfação dos graduados em relação às competências adquiridas nos diversos conhecimentos considerados relevantes evidencia a pertinência do plano de estudos. Quanto aos empregadores, os domínios e competências do saber, fazer e ser mostraram que a formação proporcionada pelo programa é pertinente, o que garante o desempenho profissional do fonoaudiólogo no ambiente de trabalho.
