Abstract (English): Functional abdominal pain is a common cause of pediatric consultation, characterized by chronic abdominal symptoms without any demonstrable organic cause. It is considered a disorder of gut–brain interaction, influenced by the nervous system, microbiota, immunity, and psychosocial factors. It affects children’s quality of life and is more prevalent among girls and adolescents (2.3–25.0%). According to the Rome IV Criteria, subtypes include irritable bowel syndrome, functional dyspepsia, abdominal migraine, and unspecified functional abdominal pain. The diagnosis is clinical and requires ruling out organic diseases such as celiac disease, Hirschsprung’s disease, or hypothyroidism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
