Abstract (English): The article focuses on the role of university outreach as a key mechanism for Latin American universities to demonstrate their social impact, especially in the field of gerontology and geriatrics. It highlights the Interuniversity Network for Healthy Aging in Latin America and the Caribbean (RIES-LAC), which coordinates interuniversity and intersectoral collaboration through research, training, and community engagement to promote healthy aging. International conferences and a manual are mentioned, evidencing the academic commitment to the well-being of older adults, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, the importance of digital technologies and curricular internationalization is emphasized to innovate university outreach and generate real impacts on the quality of life of older adults. Finally, research and experiences that integrate science, care, and community action are presented, proposing a multidimensional approach to address the challenges of aging in the region.
