Abstract (English): Breast cancer has become one of the most impactful women's health concerns internationally due to the worrying numbers of diagnosed cases and deaths reported each year. The present review article aims to explain the advantages and disadvantages of non-invasive breast cancer detection methods accepted in medical practice and under research by searching the available data on each method. A search was carried out in databases of scientific publications (Pubmed, Scielo) and websites about the topic. Clinical studies and review articles in English and Spanish dated between 2001 and 2024 were included. As keywords for the search, the following terms were used: breast self-inspection, clinical breast inspection, mammography, impedance spectroscopy, breast cancer, screening methods, breast cancer screening; the search terms were used in English and Spanish. To improve global statistics of the disease, especially in developing countries, it is necessary to achieve an integration of the different detection methods since, when combined, better results have been observed in the fight against this disease than when used individually. It is necessary to continue researching methods that can detect the disease in early stages (before the tumor appears, it would be a plus) and that are comfortable to use and accessible to everyone. Abstract (Spanish): El cáncer de mama se ha convertido en una de las preocupaciones de salud femenina de mayor impacto a nivel internacional debido a los preocupantes números de casos diagnosticados y muertes reportados cada año. El presente artículo de revisión tiene como objetivo explicar las ventajas y desventajas de los métodos de detección de cáncer de mama no invasivos aceptados en la práctica médica y en proceso de investigación mediante una búsqueda de los datos disponibles sobre cada método. Se realizó una búsqueda en bases de datos de publicaciones científicas (Pubmed, Scielo) y páginas web sobre la temática. Se incluyeron estudios clínicos y artículos de revisión en idioma inglés y español fechados entre 2001 y 2024. Como palabras clave para la búsqueda se emplearon los términos autoinspección de mamas, inspección clínica de mamas, mamografía, espectroscopía de impedancia, cáncer de mama, métodos de detección de cáncer de mama; los términos de búsqueda utilizados se emplearon en idioma inglés y español. Para mejorar las estadísticas mundiales de la enfermedad, sobre todo en países en desarrollo, es necesario lograr una integración de los diferentes métodos de detección dado que, cuando se combinan, se han observado mejores resultados en la lucha contra esta enfermedad que cuando se utilizan por separado. Es necesario continuar la investigación de métodos que logren detectar la enfermedad en etapas tempranas (antes de que aparezca el tumor, sería lo más deseado) y que sean cómodos de utilizar y accesibles para todos.
