Abstract (English): Introduction: Children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) exhibit diverse functioning and share challenges in social communication and repetitive behaviors. Diagnostic classifications do not fully capture their daily strengths and limitations, making functional assessments essential. The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) highlights activi ties and participation as fundamental aspects to describe health conditions. TEA-CIFunciona, an ICF based tool, standardizes functional assessment and defines interven tion goals for children with ASD in Argentina. This study aims to 1) describe the functioning of children with ASD across age-based groups and 2) compare functional needs and intervention goals within each subgroup. Materials and methods: TEA-CIFunciona was admin istered in follow-up consultations of children under 16 years of age with a confirmed ASD diagnosis, from 2019 to October 2024. Results: The functional profile of a sample of 497 children and adolescents was established. Functional categories (activities, participation and contextual fac tors) were compared between two age subgroups. Discussion: TEA-CIFunciona facilitated the func tional assessment, the systematization of data collec tion necessary to adapt the follow-up of children and adolescents with ASD at national level. Abstract (Spanish): Introducción: Los niños, niñas y adolescentes (NNyA) con trastorno del espectro autista (TEA) presentan fun cionamiento diverso y comparten dificultades en la comunicación social y conductas repetitivas. Las cla sificaciones diagnósticas no reflejan plenamente las fortalezas y limitaciones cotidianas, por lo que las eva luaciones funcionales son esenciales. La Clasificación Internacional del Funcionamiento, la Discapacidad y la Salud (CIF), considera las actividades y la participación como aspectos claves para describir condiciones de salud. La herramienta TEA-CIFunciona, basada en la CIF, estandariza la evaluación funcional y define metas de intervención para NNyA con TEA en Argentina. Este estudio tiene como objetivos 1) describir el funciona miento de NNyA con TEA en subgrupos por edad y 2) comparar necesidades y objetivos funcionales de inter vención en cada uno. Materiales y métodos: Se administró TEA-CIFunciona en consultas de seguimiento de NNyA con diagnóstico confirmado de TEA, menores de 16 años, desde 2019 hasta octubre de 2024. Resultados: Se elaboró el perfil funcional de una muestra de 497 NNyA. Se compararon categorías (funcio nes, actividades y participación y factores contextuales) entre dos subgrupos etarios. Discusión: TEA-CIFunciona facilitó la evaluación fun cional, la sistematización de la recolección de datos necesarios para adecuar el seguimiento de los NNyA con TEA a nivel nacional y permitió definir objetivos de intervención individuales y grupales.
