| Abstract (English): | The article focuses on the awarding of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry to David Baker, Demis Hassabis, and John Jumper for their advances in computational design and the prediction of protein structures. It highlights the importance of the three-dimensional structure of proteins for their biological function and how, through artificial intelligence tools such as AlphaFold and Rosetta, it has been possible to predict these structures with high accuracy from amino acid sequences. Additionally, it emphasizes the design of entirely new proteins and artificial enzymes with biotechnological and biomedical applications. These developments represent a significant advance in biochemical research and open new possibilities in the study and manipulation of proteins. [Extracted from the article] |
[Extracted from the article] |
