Abstract (English): Introduction: Antibiotic resistance is a major public health problem. The European Happy Patient project aims to optimize antimicrobial use through audits and training of healthcare professionals, including community pharmacists. Objectives: To evaluate the impact of an educational intervention on the quality of antibiotic dispensing in Spanish community pharmacies and to identify areas for improvement following the training. Materials and Methods: A five-hour multifactorial intervention was conducted at IDIAP Jordi Gol (Barcelona) in January 2023, including feedback on results, communication workshops, and educational materials. Subsequently, a second audit (February--April 2023) was carried out using the Audit Project Odense® method in 16 community pharmacies. A total of 450 dispensations of oral antibiotics for acute infections were analyzed. Results: Sixty percent of patients were women, and 90% were aware of the indication for the antibiotic. Relevant increases were observed in safety checks: drug interactions (+26%), contraindications (+23%), and allergies (+20%), with all three being performed in 60% of cases. Personalized information provided to patients increased regarding treatment duration (66%→80%), antimicrobial resistance (30%→48%), and medicine return/disposal (6%→28%). Contact with the prescriber increased from 0.9% to 9.3%. Conclusions: The educational intervention significantly improved the quality of antibiotic dispensing by increasing patient counseling and safety checks. These results support the implementation of ongoing training programs that strengthen the clinical role of community pharmacists in the rational use of antibiotics and the fight against antimicrobial resistance. Abstract (Spanish): Introducción: la resistencia a los antibióticos constituye un grave problema de salud pública. El proyecto europeo Happy Patient tiene como objetivo optimizar el uso de antimicrobianos mediante auditorías y formación a profesionales sanitarios, incluyendo farmacéuticos comunitarios. Objetivos: evaluar el impacto de una intervención educativa en la calidad de la dispensación de antibióticos en farmacias comunitarias españolas y detectar áreas de mejora tras la formación. Material y métodos: se realizó una intervención multifactorial de cinco horas en el IDIAP Jordi Gol (Barcelona) en enero de 2023, con retroalimentación de resultados, talleres de comunicación y materiales educativos. Posteriormente se efectuó una segunda auditoría (febrero-abril 2023) utilizando el método Audit Project Odense® en 16 farmacias comunitarias. Se analizaron 450 dispensaciones de antibióticos orales para infecciones agudas. Resultados: el 60 % de los pacientes fueron mujeres y el 90 % conocía la indicación del antibiótico. Se observaron incrementos relevantes en las comprobaciones de seguridad: interacciones (+26 %), contraindicaciones (+23 %) y alergias (+20 %), realizándose las tres en el 60 % de los casos. Aumentó la información personalizada sobre duración del tratamiento (66 %→80 %), resistencia antimicrobiana (30 %→48 %) y devolución del medicamento (6 %→28 %). El contacto con el prescriptor pasó del 0,9 % al 9,3 %. Conclusiones: La intervención educativa mejoró significativamente la calidad de la dispensación de antibióticos, incrementando la información al paciente y los controles de seguridad. Los resultados apoyan la implementación de programas formativos continuados que refuercen el papel clínico del farmacéutico comunitario en el uso racional de antibióticos y la lucha contra las resistencias antimicrobianas.
