| Abstract (English): | Background: This study presents the development of GERONTOINFO, an information system designed exclusively for research in gerontopsychiatry at the San José University Children's Hospital. The system was created to overcome challenges arising from the diversity of pathologies and to standardize the collection of clinical data, enabling the structured gathering, storage, and analysis of information with high-security standards. Methodology: This is an applied research study focused on software development and technological evaluation in mental health. Initially, a thorough analysis of the service's needs and requirements was conducted to define the critical areas of data management. Subsequently, a modular architecture was designed and developed using Node.js and MySQL to securely and efficiently integrate multiple modules, such as the management of personal data, clinical history, mental examinations, assessment scales, and psychometric test results. Results: During the implementation phase, pilot usability tests were conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS), yielding an average score of 88 from a sample of ten researchers, indicating high acceptance and ease of use. Additionally, security measures such as data encryption and automatic backups were implemented to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the collected information. Conclusion: GERONTOINFO emerges as a specialized and efficient tool for research in gerontopsychiatry, significantly improving the quality of clinical information and laying the groundwork for more robust studies in this field. Its continuous evolution, with potential artificial intelligence integrations, promises to further enhance its capacity to optimize data management and analysis in gerontopsychiatry. | Abstract (Spanish): | Introducción: En el ámbito de la gerontopsiquiatría, la gestión de datos clínicos presenta desafíos asociados a la diversidad de patologías y a la necesidad de estandarización. En este contexto, se desarrolló GERONTOINFO, un sistema de información para la investigación en gerontopsiquiatría del Hospital Infantil Universitario de San José, que facilita la recolección, el almacenamiento y el análisis seguro de datos clínicos. Objetivo: Desarrollar GERONTOINFO como un sistema de información orientado a la investigación en gerontopsiquiatría, que contribuya a mejorar la gestión de los datos clínicos. Metodología: Se trata de una investigación aplicada con enfoque en el desarrollo de software y la evaluación tecnológica en salud mental. Inicialmente, se realizó un análisis exhaustivo de necesidades y requisitos del servicio para definir las áreas críticas de gestión de datos. Posteriormente, se diseñó y desarrolló una arquitectura modular utilizando Node.js y MySQL, con el fin de integrar de manera segura y eficiente múltiples módulos, como la gestión de datos personales, antecedentes clínicos, examen mental, escalas de evaluación y resultados de pruebas psicométricas. Resultados: Durante la fase de implementación, se realizaron pruebas piloto de usabilidad mediante la System Usability Scale (SUS), obteniéndose un puntaje promedio de 88 en una muestra de diez investigadores, lo que refleja una alta aceptación y facilidad de uso del sistema. Asimismo, se implementaron medidas de seguridad, como el cifrado de datos y copias de seguridad automáticas, asegurando la integridad y confidencialidad de la información recolectada. Conclusión: GERONTOINFO se presenta como una herramienta especializada y eficiente para la investigación en gerontopsiquiatría, que mejora la calidad de la información clínica y sienta las bases para estudios más robustos en este campo.
